Need help with PREVIEW*.CKx files

Post by drache »

Dear Keen: Modding forum,

today I need your help with another problem.

I can't find a solution after I read all the KeenWiki Articles and searched inside this Keen: Modding forum for other posts, so I want to ask you to help me with the following problem:
  • How can I create my own PREVIEW*.CKx image files to show up some of my own previews and
  • how can I import / export these images into / from these PREVIEW*.CKx files?
Thanks for your help.

Best regards

modkeen2 and keengraph export these files as 1ext0003.bmp and 1ext0002.bmp. Edit those and then re-import them.

When using modkeen1 you have to use a program called fin2bmp in order to convert them to bmp and back.

ModKeen2 doesn't, LModKeen2 does.

Indeed, an important difference. fin2bmp is a utility dedicated to this, but I of course reccomend Keengraph.

Hmm, guess I didn't check that properly. Indeed, modkeen2 doesn't extract the 1exts.
