Treasure Eater Patch

Post by Alopex »

Hi, guys!

I'm working on my first Keen 4 mod and I want to change a little bit the behaviour of Treasure Eaters.

In particular, I would like to:

  • -make them harmful for Keen;
  • -increase their speed movement
  • -make them chasing Keen when they see him (like Blue Bird or Lick);
  • -make them not disappear after collecting candies.

How can I do that?

you have read Ceilicks Tutorial, haven't you?! it's important that you understand the patching basics in order to alter the behavior of sprites.

second there is a big collection of existing patches on the KeenWiki. simply type Patch:Treasure Eater into the search bar to look for patches that might relate to your goal. it's kind of a shortcut, because often times there already exists a patch which you're looking for.

else, there is also a patching tutorial if you want to dive deep into the secrets of modding and patching Keen Games: http://www.shikadi.net/keenwiki/Patchin ... Levellass)

but you don't have to learn things like this, it's also legit to ask these kind of questions in this very forum, like you did. if so, you just need to be a bit patient because there are only a few people who can patch like gods. meaning: it might take some time but most of the time you'll receive what you were asking for.
