PATCH: Give Keen a machine gun.

When using this patch; Keen will get a machine gun.

While searching for the "No Raygun" slimmed-down patch (sorry Andy) and the "Shot x-coordinate" patch, I stumbled accross this. Although it is just a novelty feature, someone may find some use for it.

Edit: Keen's machine gun sounds better, Sound $24 is used now.

This works disgustingly well in XkyKeen1, because the shots do not collide with one another. :-)

Love it. Any vorticon commander is cake now. I was gonna request this for my next mod, so ill definetely be using this.

Great that your patching now too, multimania, looks like you know what youre doing. Please continue to do so.

Edit: There's something to say for those colliding bullits too, they make for a nice flamethrower - try it in KeenY.

And quadruple the ammo; the smallest shot I could do was four bullets long.

Not having tested this yet, I should keep my mouth shut, but it sounds like you're having difficulty with the shots spawning too quickly and colliding with each other. (Or maybe you like that.) I might suggest looking at the code for the guard bot in Keen 2; it quickly spawns four shots with a slight delay between each.

Just a suggestion.

Okay, now I've tested it. Geez! Vorticons start to feel more like the grunts in Keens 2 & 3; I get kind of jumpy in areas with a lot of them, and more than once accidentally squeezed off about thirty shots, obliterating a whole row of vorticons.

Without setting up some sort of "absurd amounts of ammo" patch and making all the baddys super-strong (maybe half the vorticon commander for a regular vorticon...), I don't see how this could be useful.

LL, your keyboard is too springy; the shortest "round" I could manage was about ten!

I really liked the way Benvolio harnessed the fact that the bullets collide and kill each other and used it to make a blowtorch. Blowtorching those deer thingies is fun. :)
