Ok...I didn't vote yet.......

You know...fat is more original, "alien-looking". So I'll vote for that. Also - to speed up the decision, as we seem to have majority for it now :)
I like the cute expression.
Now jsut to animate it :)

As a compromise, Maybe later Keen can find a slimming potion for it, so it won't get so tired flying and will be able to fly near Keen in another dark level :)
I'll just use a Photoshop on it for a slimmy figure :)

You could make a 56x56 pixel aura/starburst pattern. In the dark levels, this would be centered on the fire fly which follows keen, or just centered on keen himself. There are just two colours: grey and black. It lightens the area where there are grey pixels and does not lighten where there are black pixels.

It just needs to be a simple pattern for testing if the effect looks good. It might look like crap.

I like the spleen version, the eyes should look somewhere though, not stare at the player

So...beside the eyes - this is the selected variation?

:confused

The bottom two are the final two-frame animated images, unless anyone can spot room for improvement. The others are drafts.

I mean, definitely the dopefly one!

Your friend here is Microsoft GIF Animator, which allows you to make and take apart most animated GIF images. Simply ignore the first frame of the stars and there you go! http://download.cnet.com/Microsoft-GIF- ... 12053.html

For the less technically minded I have put extracted frames in the dropbox folder (CKCM->Sprites)

Cool... stars are in!

Firefly has been added, and frogs, platforms, and that big red alien guy have all been improved a bit, which means...

ENEMIES ARE DONE (barring some speed tweaks and such).

(Just have to rework the message boxes and the dark forest level entries, and then the entire in-game logic will be done as well!)

And you can start on level making and shame all the Keen community.
