For people who don't visit PCKF, here's my new Keen 1 mod: http://www.keeniverse.net/keen/must/die/cke.zip
Extract folder and run play.bat.

Here's the PCKF topic: http://pckf.rigeltechnical.com/viewtopic.php?t=2430

I posted a Play-through of the first 7 levels on pckf, KeenRush. As you can see, the level design was quite awesome and game-play was very fun.
But I'm having the darndest time with Level 8...

Any chance you've given any further levels a playthrough? Level 8 would in particular intrigue me.

I'll take another stab at it. I've gotten this far, might as well finish the thing. If need be, I'll have to investigate the tiles with a level editor.

As usual this is innovate and tricky, with no way to tell what his many patches do. I simultaneously praise and curse the author.

KeenRush is infamous for killing off his websites. I've got a mirror here http://www.zapzot.net/mods/cke.zip that I at least semi-promise not to have disappear.

And I try to keep backups of every mod released. I can always dropbox on request.

(double-posting: http://pckf.rigeltechnical.com/viewtopi ... 463#p83463)
This might be the a better place for posting this sort of question:

for this mod you used lemm's auto-scrolling patch, didn't you?! It is the same patch to loop the level like seen in Herry Jerry's Banana Mod, right?

I was wondering whether it might be possible to loop a level without the scrolling effect?! what I'm looking for is going off the right level edge and appearing on the left edge of the level seamlessly BUT without the auto-scrolling. like an infinite level so to say.

In my opinion this could be a really interesting option. what to you think? any ideas on that?

by the way: fantastic colour scheme for this unique mod idea.

That's simple enough, I even have such a patch for an old and possibly abandoned project. BUT-

Only the 'first' loop has sprites in it; every other loop in both directions lacks any sprites, they get 'left behind' as it were. This will limit the applications of the patch. (Perhaps some sort of creative teleport patch instead? Might be worth looking at.)

@Nisaba: It's lemm's auto-scrolling patch, yes. But I don't think it's the same as in Banana Mod - or then Banana Mod has it and some other stuff in addition. (I don't know how it's done.) The patch used in this mod, however, makes the screen move towards the right end of the level, and once it is reached, it stops moving. The level doesn't wrap, and to my knowledge there is no patch that would accomplish that (other than Banana Mod's automatically moving screen). That certainly would be neat indeed, and I might use it myself too if it existed. Sadly, I have not enough skills to even attempt making one. Oh, and nice to hear you like the colour scheme. :) I like how different this mod still looks.

You know I have posted the looping patch over at the PCKF and it's listed on the Keenwiki. It has its limitations but it does work.

Is anyone listening?

No...?
