Ally's Mod

Post by Fleexy »

My younger sister wants to be just like me. So, she wanted to make a mod. I helped her.

Fleexy's jobs:
----
Patching
Convincing to make it simple
Utility use
Clicking to place tiles when Ally points
Release

Ally's jobs:
----
Graphics
Pointing to make levels

Well, it's not fantabulous, but here it is:

Ally's mod

The ending sequence is left alone, with a lot of other things, but it's... interesting. You'll have a hard time finding what the hazards are, though.

She's as old as Commander Keen!

I just finished the mod, and I really like it. The third level is my favorite. Tell her good job for me, okay?

I liked level two. :)

Good things: The levels become progressively larger/longer from 1 to 4. Makes me feel like I'm achieving more and more!

Bad things: No animations or multi-tile objects at all! :) That's your next task... make some larger objects and make them change color!

Haha. So cute. :)

Cute little mod :) I know when I was that age I'd draw things like 2d houses and such. She might enjoy drawing on an open ms paint canvas and then you could transfer her drawings into the tileset for her :)

Awwww! It is cute! Get her into The Neural Stunner will you? It'll help!

I vote this cutest mod ever. (It reminds me of when LL's kid brother tried modding.) Possibly we need a level pack for it? There's potential for some ingenious use!

Get her to write a story for that mod, and maybe draw a titlescreen, and I'll make a KeenWiki page of the mod, ok?

That's pretty cute, Fleexy. I also think level two is the best.
The only thing I'd suggest changing is the Apogee screen at the beginning. It's a little hard on the eyes with all the flashing. Other than that, you two did a nice job. I hope to see another one like this.

Update!

In this release:
---
Title screen
No flashy "APOGEE" sequence
No weird ending

Same link as before! :)

You may do the KeenWiki page now, Tulip. ;) And thanks!

Hah, that really is fun. The minimal tileset lets the level structure shine through, and the levels have a nice progression to them. I'll certainly contribute to a level pack for this!

I quite appreciate how you cut out the ending entirely. Everything is kept so simple and clear cut.

Now allow me to contribute to the 'cute' chorus.
