adding tiles to 4TIL0000 and 4TIL0001
adding tiles to 4TIL0000 and 4TIL0001
how do i go about adding tiles to 4TIL0000 and 4TIL0001 just want to add some from the kd k5 k6 ones to the k4 one
Re: adding tiles to 4TIL0000 and 4TIL0001
it depends... what kind if graphics editing tool are you using? paint, photoshop, gimp, or even something else?
I'd recommend to start with the background tiles, as they are easier to manipulate.
what you want to do is simply open up the bitmap file within your graphics editor and change what ever you like. but you should keep some things in mind:
after all that, save the bitmap and make sure to import it via modkeen.exe.
(you might have noticed that I included a batch file called modkimp.bat in the download folder. simply run this script within DOSBox to import your tweaked graphics.)
run you mod an ckeck your changes. that's it.
tell me your results. if everything is working well, we can have a look at the foreground tileset as well.
meanwhile make sure to read these parts of the tutorial:

what you want to do is simply open up the bitmap file within your graphics editor and change what ever you like. but you should keep some things in mind:
- you can only use 16 colours
(use the EGA standard palette/ the colours as seen in the bitmap) - every tile is 16x16 pixel
(therefor use the grid-option (photoshop/gimp) ).

Re: adding tiles to 4TIL0000 and 4TIL0001
I want to keep all the tiles i did add some straght from one game and made it the bmp longer to see if it works before i keeo going and imported it but now how do i get them to come up in abiathar
Re: adding tiles to 4TIL0000 and 4TIL0001
first of all, the size of the bitmaps are restricted. without some heavy patching you cannot stretch this limitation. and I'd highly recommend not doing so at the moment. the best way for now is to get used to altering graphics in general.
there should be plenty of space in the original 4TIL0000 file which you can tweak around with. try to get familiar with all this first, before expanding any graphics.
to see changes in abiathar I recommoned using my setup I was sending you earlier. therefor follow the these steps:

- open the 4TIL000 file in your graphics editor tool
- find black squared spots and replace them with your own graphics
- import your results via modkeen (as described before)
- open up the abiathar project called Nisaba.adeps
- check your changes and implement them to you liking
- post your results

Re: adding tiles to 4TIL0000 and 4TIL0001
do you use paint?
were you working with 4TIL0000 or with 4TIL0001?
which tiles to you want to copy over from Keen6?
I can do this for you if you wish.

Re: adding tiles to 4TIL0000 and 4TIL0001
ok, let's start with the background tiles, since they are much easier to implement.
first you want to make some room for your new tiles. therefor check what you don't need. as you are not using the worlmap, you could simply remove everything related, like this stuff over here:
to delete stuff, simply paint it black. but be careful! some of the island tiles use animation tileinfo. you don't want to miss to reset this tileinfo later on in abiathar (click the tile --> tools --> tile property modifier --> Offset=0 --> Delay=0).
afterwards everything should look something like this (you can of course delete even more stuff, depending on what you want to keep). I personally like to rearrange stuff to have a better order. but this step is up to you. the last and final step is to copy over some Keen6 tiles of your choice, like so:
and that's all the magic. next step is to import it via modkeen and view your results within abiathar.
try it out.
and don't forget to tell me your results.
happy modding

Re: adding tiles to 4TIL0000 and 4TIL0001
You can't, which is a great annoyance to me.
Re: adding tiles to 4TIL0000 and 4TIL0001
The Tile Property Modifier has a copy/paste mode. Press C to copy the current tile's properties to the clipboard, then click each tile you want to paste on. When finished pasting, press X to return to the standard TPM mode.
PSThar also has the Get-TileProperties and Set-TileProperties cmdlets, which may be helpful if you like scripting.

the mirrored house #1:
please tell me, what kind of graphics editor are you using. there might be a helping grid you want to activate in order to line things up easily.
- 1pixel down
- 2pixel to the right
