Torgopolis

I'll submit a 1 level keen4 mod for this contest/exhibition. I actually started it in March 2004 but I was overwhelmed by the amount of graphics you have to make. It'll be called Torgopolis, and it'll be done for 14 March.

I used this extra background in my first two Keen1 mods. I think it's a bit of leftover code from Keen2 because the second Background in Keen2 is also somewhere around there in the tileset.

This is a very clever realistic effect, but it's hard to imagine making a mod using it. The resolution you would actually get to use would be halved for a start, and sprites would need to be very big to look realistic.

The mod's development was organised via e-mail over the space of about 2 weeks. The making of levels and of graphics was pretty evenly divided.

DasBrot, the snow you were admiring was actually taken from the mod Bazooka Wowbagger by Paperface Music!

The closest I got to completing the level was when I ran out of time around five tiles from the green and yellow doors with both keys. I tend to prefer outlined things to things with no outlines. I just re-use other people's patches. For my Keen1 mods I used KeenX and for my Keen2 mod I used Norp The Yorp 2. I just made up one or two patches myself with my Hex Editor that no-one would actually want to patch, like the text you get when you press F5 in a level.

I remember when I was playing Keen1 version 1.0 on my old computer Keen used to be able to jump very high some of the time. With the same copy of Keen1 on my new PC, this doesnt' happen.
