Freeing up Memory and Patch Space

Anyone out there have any quick general ways of freeing more memory? Cause the other day I went into that 4sprites.txt file (i think its named) and I went to where the keen player sprites were and noticed that some of the sprites had a 4 at the end (which takes more memory) and i thought i uncovered...

ohhhhh, you made the first Y position 11. see, i tried putting some values in that point before but it didnt seem to do anything. I'll try this when i get home.

Don't know if this is the correct area to post this in, but I changed the graphic for my keen sprite (for keen4) and its taller than the original and now i can't click switches or enter doorways like normal cause they have to be a tile higher now, but i'd like it if i can make it still click em at t...

How about those stun stars?

Is there any way to change the properties of the stars that you get when you stun an enemy? Cause enemies of mine are of different sizes than the original, the stars need to be re-positioned.

ohh right.

well a side question- so its possible to create, say, two enemies out of one, right? (i read about that somewhere) and if thats so, how do you actually put it in a level, in a level editor? like tell the computer 'make this tile link up to my new enemy'?

...ok i found the 'Sprite Cache' page in the keen wiki, and i found out how to do it. i should check the wiki page before I ask questions :p But for anyone else who may ask the same question- in the 'animation' section on enemy's patching wiki pages shows the cache value ranges (they're also in the ...

Question about caching and memory

So sprites have to be cached beforehand before it can be used in a level. The thing is, I've been patching lots of enemies lately and some frames of enemies i'm not using. e.g I'm not using the lightning frames for the Cloud enemy in keen4. So do these extrenous frames that i'm not using get cached ...
