You're more than welcome to change it as you see fit, but when was the last time you saw uppercase names on a Linux filesystem??? Sure, FAT filesystems store names in uppercase, but the Linux FAT driver converts them to lowercase anyway...

Filename case

Just saw your post about fixing the case of filenames. I have this problem fairly often so I thought you might be interested in a more generic script I came up with. Save the code in a file called "namelower", make it executable and put it in the path and then you can do stuff like this: $...

Another wiki

Hmm...maybe this is a good time to mention that I've got another wiki that's currently under construction - the ModdingWiki . I uploaded it at the same time as the KeenWiki, but didn't announce it as it's still pretty spartan. My original idea was for it to be a place to document all the classic gam...

Well, I just downloaded another version which happened to be v1.4 already (and the 1.0 -> 1.4 patch tells me it was already applied so it looks like a "good" version.) The 1.4 files are dated Feb 1st, 1992, but my original 1.0 files are dated Dec 15th, 1991 - so it looks like it only took ...

Why not create a duplicate copy of the game and try TED on that? Exactly - I never modify my only copy of the game, so this is identical to the original. Well not quite, because the original was split over two 5.25" floppies and the first time you run the game it combines EGA1.CKx and EGA2.CKx...

I don't know precisely what the differences are - I assume a few minor bugs would've been fixed but yes, part of the game editor I'm working on will allow you to edit all the text in the EXE - so it'd probably be best if it worked with the latest version, rather than an old one that nobody has anymo...

Hmm, well I used both the Linux and DOS versions of Unlzexe but it still tells me it's an unknown version of Keen5e.exe...

Any other ideas?

Troubles with Xtra's Keen5 -> 1.4 patch

Wow, I didn't realise that I've never posted here before...! Well, here goes my first post. I finally decided to upgrade my Keens to the latest versions, and as I have v1.0 of Keen5 I downloaded Xtra's v1.4 patch, but when I run it it tells me that I have an unknown version of Keen5e.exe! How many v...
