Re: ModId - Modkeen for all the 16-bit Id games!

I've just published another release of ModId with a few changes. There isn't a lot of features added, but there's a warning below that someone might want to check out. The last release may currently be found here: https://github.com/owenmpierce/modId/releases FOR ANYBODY WHO IMPORTED VGA MASKED 16x1...

Alright, thanks a lot for telling me that way. I'll try it!
No problem!

Just mentioning, though, that I've had a mistake regarding support for Catacomb 3-D v1.00 in ModId (if you're using v1.00 and not, say, 1.22). So my post has been edited accordingly.

Re: CKPatch extended for other games: Released!

Hey there, This is going to be a weird (and somewhat belated) response to the following topic I started over at PCKF: https://pckf.rigeltechnical.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4046 So basically, with the possible exception of version of 0.5.0 of CKPATCH, I think that I got all copies versions of CKPATCH, ...

Re: NY00123's tests level

I've just uploaded a video recording of a play-through to YouTube (I also created a DEMO0.CK4 file for this): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGfU841MqR8 Note that the discussion with the janitor is not there, otherwise I wouldn't be able to save the demo to a file like DEMO0.CK4. It's also a good c...

Re: NY00123's tests level

Lemme partially quote from the PCKF post (including (most of) my response to Nisaba)... Thanks for trying out this level so far! I should say that, erm, as a proof there's a way to beat the level, I've recorded a demo of myself doing so. It's currently just a DEMO0.DMO file in a modified EGAGRAPH.CK...

NY00123's tests level

Download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ellos4bfm3fgs1z/NYsTestsLevel-20170422.zip?dl=0 I'll simply quote from the README here: ====== A few possible comments on this level: - From the ones who didn't know: Wow, this is a great way to build a little challenge! - From some JJ2 players: Bringing the ...

Re: CKPatch extended for other games: Released!

Think it's time for the first update since K:M has moved to new hands! This is a bit of a possible less stable update, numbered 0.11.3. It may currently be downloaded from this link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/e2031k72aunk86c/ckpatch-0.11.3.zip It's also (still) possible to get it from this page (aga...

Re: Welcome to the migrated Keen: Modding forum!

Quoting from the PCKF (*although* I posted less here, so it's maybe a bit less, erm, significant'): So I'm back after a few days (although I've been around during the beginning of the migration itself). Guess that I'm on the "other side" now! Question is which kind: New hosting, new year, anything e...

Again after around 2.5 years (since the last release), there is another unofficial update available, being version 0.11.2. As before, it can be downloaded from the following place (hosted by Duke4.net): http://ny.duke4.net/files.html First of all, A FEW SENTENCES OF WARNING: BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY ...

Now, which feature has been considered missing since version 0.8.2? Well, it may have some bugs and limitations, but a few snippets follow: http://i61.tinypic.com/2a8j6hj.png http://i61.tinypic.com/1znbi0z.png http://i57.tinypic.com/51raeb.png Basically, the DOSBox-style input mapping originally int...

Exactly a week has passed. Oh, and yeah, it's 404 day, I suppose. While not significant again, at the least it should be possible to try out some abandoned mouse input mechanism now, with zero hex editing in the way. The most noticeable change is probably the fact that the launcher UI is *not* displ...

A nice polishing on the work. Thanks for your feedback, including the comments over at pckf.com! As for today, it's currently Keen day 2014 plus two weeks, and another version is up. Due to restructuring of some parts of the graphics related code, this may be buggy, but hopefully it should rather w...

As you can see, there haven't been a lot of news on the topic. But I still have some kind of a "Keen month 2014" release. The main update is a new OpenGL rendering path, using custom (but simple and common) shaders and powered by OpenGL 2.0 (or if you're sufficiently lucky and/or brave, OpenGL ES 2....

In order to celebrate Keen Day... oh, two months too early! Well, anyway, there is another update, bringing several interface-related changes. Although it should still be assumed that Windows and Linux desktops are the only platforms to be supported, it may still be desired by some random individual...

Another update is up now. Most chances are that someone is going to be interested in it if a desktop color depth differing from 32-bpp is preferred (at least for software rendering via the -surface argument). Note that if it's working for anybody with a 8-bpp indexed color format, it may simply be a...
