Make things bigger or smaller? What things? Do you mean sprites? You can make Schoolfish as big as a Dopefish. And you can reduce a Arachnut to the size of a Wormouth. All it takes is a little resizing from a program like Paint. But there are rules and restrictions as to how tall and wide a sprite can be. If you want to make a big creature, check the dimensions or the Dopefish or Berkeloid. There are tons of different bitmaps (in the graphics folder) that are all different in length and height. Let those be your guide to how wide or tall you make your sprites. Do you know what I mean? Argh... I really do have to make video tutorials--for my own sake, because I'm always afraid I'm not clear in my explanations.

Please keep up the good work!

im just talking about making the characters biger and smaller. like the snail and ect. and thanks for all your help! :D

With regards to resizing graphics, whether they be sprites or tiles or other graphics, there is really no easy way to resize at the pixel level without messing up the image somewhat. You will probably need to do some painstaking retouching on the resized image if you want it to look well-drawn. Usually a solid black border (not too solid- take a look at any of the original sprites to see what I mean) around sprites is easiest on the eye, only expert pixel artists should try and do otherwise.

I also strongly recommend you use something better than Paint although I hear they've finally added one or two features to Paint beyond the 80's-vintage capabilities it had until the last Windows. Try something like Paint Shop Pro (quite cheap), or the Gimp (free) or Photoshop (*checks website* whoah still ridiculously dear at €859).

There's two versions of each point item in Keen:Galaxy (which makes very little sense, but we can't do much about it): one sprite and one tile. I'm guessing you modified the sprite version and need to locate the tile version in the foreground tileset. If you've already found the one in the tileset, there's the sprite version somewhere in all the sprite images.

It makes perfect sense. Normally you should place the foreground tile versions (layer two). If you need a point item where you already have a foreground tile (such as a secret passageway), then you should use the layer 3 sprite version. The point sprites in layer 3 should be used sparingly to avoid running out of sprite slots in a level.

CommanderKeen314, you need to change both the point items midway down the file "4TIL0001" and in the sprite image files 4SPR0103-116.

Note that changing the first few rows of tiles at the very top of the file 4TIL0001 will have NO effect on what you see in the game. These are merely used as display inside a level editor.

However, it is possible in TED5 to place them in a level. I did this in my first collaborative Keen Dreams mod, to get some extra tiles.
