All done now.

What exactly doesn't your computer like about the PC speaker, anyway?

Whenever the PC speaker plays a sound (in games, progrmas, etc) it goes to that blue error screen and i have to restart the computer.
Without sound, though, or with regular speaker sound, it runs fine.

Try going into System => Device Manager and disabling 'System speaker' under 'System devices'...

I tried that, and it said i had to restart the computer. I did. It reinstalled. I tried without restarting, and it didn't disable. O_o

Disable?

Post by CommanderSpleen »

Did you disable it or uninstall it? To disable it you need to open its Properties window and change the 'Device usage:' drop-down box from 'Use this device (enable)' to 'Do not use this device (disable)'.

Some computers let you disable the internal speaker from BIOS, too... try pressing <DEL> when your computer is first starting up, but make sure not to toy with too many settings unless you're sure of yourself. :-)

Can't be changed from BIOS, no drop down box in the properties.

Well, at the very least, it's possible to mash F2 on the title screen, and turn off those sound effects before they get a chance to bruise your computer... right?
