Anti-Virus Claims MindBelt 1.3 Is Infected

Post by Bitemaster »

Hi there,

AVAST AntiVirus claims Mindbelt 1.3 is a trojan housing Win32:Evo-gen [Susp] and refuses to let me download it. I have tried to download it from shikadi.net and the author's locations, both are claimed to be suspicious and Avast refuses the connection to the files.

While this could be a false positive, I would like to hear your thoughts before changing my antivirus settings. I was able to download Mindbelt 1.2.1, however, just for reference sake.

You can set up a protected folder, turn the shields off and download, then move the download to that folder and run it fine from in there. It's how I manage things.

Thanks! So it is a false positive, I take it.

EDIT: I found another version of MindBelt, called MindBeltExt. This file is dated 2009 and I had no problem running it. It seems to be made later than 1.3, so that's cool.
