Actually, I think that'll work out nicely. I'm not *too* thrilled about changing dark red to brown - it looks just a tiny bit less Keen than it did before. Maybe the brown can be changed to a more reddish color, like something in-between? That might mess up the whole tileset, though, seeing as a lot...

I don't think the controls should be messed with too much.
Maybe change the switches to work with the up key, kinda like in Keen Galaxy?

I know you're just playing around with the style right now, but I hope you vary the shapes of the lakes and excavation areas a bit. It looks weird to have them all exactly the same.

Remember that we* have a whole tileset devoted to the map... You don't have to restrict the level to a 2x2 square. I think they should be resized to look more like Keen 4 and 6 style levels.

*(Why do I keep saying "we"? I don't think I've contributed to this mod at all... :-P)

I wonder if we could have multiple map files, since the map is going to change so much throughout the game? Like level79.ck1? That would be chaotic to patch, but possible if absolutely necessary. Making a font wouldn't be ideal, because a lot of modders change it (or just the pictures, at least).

I'd ask Levellass or Lemm or someone about the file compression or format or whatever, and how to convert that into an image on the screen.

I've never liked the palette patch. It takes away from the Keenish-ness of the mod.
