I can see the individual pixels in that shot!
On a *completely* related note, Keen looks absolutely awesome in widescreen. Don't ask why. If I knew, I'd probably turn myself in to an insane asylum. Maybe I should do that anyway...

Apparently, things that fall into the water don't make it off the bottom of the screen. It's been a (long) while since I've player YII, so I don't really remember. Beyond that, it is certaintly true that the points should be more organized. Leaving them randomly scattered may make for brain cramps a...

I'm going to make a quick comparison of the first levels of Keens 1 and 3 to prove a point. The first level of Keen 1 is, as people have said, easy. It provides a good introduction to the basic game mechanics, including jumping (though not with the pogo), shooting, hazards, and a single (mostly) har...

I recall seeing this error message (or a very similar one) before, and not having much trouble fixing it, but it has been quite some time now and I don't recall what I did. You could try some basic diagnostics; for example, extract and tehn import without changes the graphics for Keen 1 just to make...

The best advice I can give is to plan ahead. It's true, lot's of people build levels from scratch, in a level editor, but the perspective of being able to see an entire level laid out in front of you on a piece of graph paper is unique and empowering. You'll see things with such a large-scale view t...

Mmm, yeah, maybe. I've tried reimporting to no avail. Then I made a two-second backup and re-extracted the graphics. Lo and behold, they're completely intact. Actually, the version that Modkeen extracted was significantly out of date (more out of date than the last version i had played with), but ot...

Modkeen bug
Here's a new one for y'all: I ran an import on Keen 2 (using Modkeen 1.0) and lo and behold--- Nothing. Instead of beautiful modded graphics, I came up with complete, utter, complete blackness. No red, no green, no nothing. Just black. I know this is a graphics problem because all of the interface e...
